Annunciation of Stamford 2017 Scholarships
Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Scholarship Guidelines/ Requirements
The parent or legal guardian of a Scholarship applicant must be a member in good standing of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Stamford, Connecticut (the “Church”). In order for such parent(s) or legal guardian to be in good standing, they must have submitted a signed Stewardship commitment card for the calendar year in which the application is being made, committing a portion of time, talent and treasure to the Church, and must remain current throughout the year on their commitments. The final determination of whether the parent/ guardian is current, and therefore in good standing, will be made by the Pastor of the Church.
Accepted or Enrolled in School
Each Applicant must be currently accepted to and/ or enrolled in an undergraduate program of a four (4) year accredited college or university and proof of such acceptance/ enrollment must be submitted along with the completed Scholarship application. Such proof may consist of a letter of acceptance and/ or a current transcript showing the applicant’s most recent courses completed and grades.
Each Applicant must be between the ages of 17 and 25; however, if the Applicant can demonstrate an extraordinary circumstance for continuing to pursue their undergraduate education over the age of 25, the Scholarship Committee may make an exception for the age requirement set forth herein.
There is no specific GPA requirement that must be met by each applicant, however, in the case of more than one otherwise qualified Applicant, the Scholarship Committee will take into account the level of academic excellence achieved by each applicant.
Active in the Church Community
Each Applicant must show that they have and continue to be active in the Church community, including, but not limited to their involvement in the spiritual and cultural life in the Church in one or more of the following ways:
In the absence of any qualified applicants, the Scholarship Committee reserves the right to choose not to award the Scholarship in any given year.
Deadline for all applications to be submitted and postmarked by April 28th, 2017

~ Volunteering at our annual Church Festival
~ Assisting with Sunday School
